Have been an HH member since ‘86. However, I am amazed at the number of times I’ve requested an upgrade only to be informed the hotel is fully booked. You also have to realize today there is a huge number of Hilton guests with gold or diamond status.

Is this something you have to ask for when you check in or is this something the front desk just does without you asking?

The combination of the free Weekend Night certificate, complimentary Diamond status, and annual resort credit push the value of the Aspire card into positive territory (versus the $450 annual fee). As long as Hilton and Amex don’t cut benefits in the future, this card is a keeper.

Since you’re only 2 nights away…I’d say go for it. BUT…Hilton Gold is the sweet spot. Unless Hilton makes the Executive Lounge a requirement for its higher end hotels, the only “true” perk is the 100% bonus.

I am Diamond. It’s hard to get upgrades and it is shocking how many properties do not have the lounge. I did 78 nights this year and am seriously considering moving to another chain. I really need to see Hilton step-up this program on the high end.

The guest services vary very much depending the location. I got an amazing guest service in Belgrade with an upfront welcome email from the hotel. I got NOTHING and an old room in Leeds. Even contacting Hilton via email is resulting in „robot-like“ Standard email answers. The chat bot is the same.
Is it worth to spend the money for 2 nights to catch Diamond status?

As of today I can do that, but the booking is for May next year and I know I won’t have status. No Platinum card, no Hilton cards, etc…
Will I keep my 5th night free? Will I get my free continental breakfast?
I can’t find these answers anywhere.

Thanks!

I am about to make a reservation in Clearwater, FL and I am wondering if I should choose the “upgrade request” during my reservation or will this mess with my possible free upgrade?
THanks!

can’t really compare 25k hyatt to 80k hilton as the currency is completely different.
hilton worth about 1/2 cent per while Hyatt worth around 1.7 cents per. YMMV
So those “values” are similar.
