They would not help me get reimbursement for a flight I was not able to take to Morroco in April of 2020,due to the pandemic. I have spent months of phone calls and emails and got no where. The customer service is terrible.

Your comment makes no sense. The CSR annual fee is $250 after the $300 credit because you were going to pay for the travel anyway.

Actually you don’t pay anything to get the travel credit. You charge it to your card and you get a statement credit up to $300, nothing comes out of your pocket. So even if you didn’t use the card for anything else except $300 of travel you will only have paid $550 annual fee and received $300 worth of travel, net effect of having paid $250 to Chase.

Then you are only getting your $300 back. You will have still paid $550 for the annual fee. The credit does not reduce the annual fee down to $250. And you only get $500 worth of points. You are still down $50.
I got the preferred instead. They are basically giving you $600 worth of points and it only cost you a $95 annual fee. So you are getting $505 for free.

I’d imagine these lounges will look a lot different – and not necessarily for the better.

Citi Prestige offers no travel protection. Not even car rental insurance. For this reason alone, I would never use the Prestige to purchase airline tickets. In contrast, the CSR offers extensive travel protections, including primary car rental insurance. Although the Prestige offers 5x TY points on airfare and dining and 3x TY points for hotels, the CSR offers 3x UR points on ALL travel and dining. The CSR has better transfer partners than the Prestige, and UR points are more valuable than TY points. If you book travel through the cards’ respective travel portals a UR point in worth 1.5 cents whereas a TY point in worth only 1 cent. So even if you are getting 5x TY points on your Prestige for dining and airline expenses those points are only worth 5 cents for travel bookings made through the Citi portal. 3x UR points if you use a CSR for dining and all travel expenses is worth 4.5 cents for travel bookings made through the Chase portal. The difference is negligible. Both cards have the same effective annual fee ($495 – $250 travel credit equals $245 effective annual fee for Prestige; $550 – $300 travel credit equals $250 effective annual fee for the CSR). I cancelled my Prestige when Citi gutted the card’s travel protections and went back to the CSR.

$100 increase is not that big a deal given the price you’re already paying for this card before the increase. It has tremendous benefits and you’re likely using this card because you travel and spend enough to make good use of it. Even though I’m not happy with the hundred dollar increase it would it in the lease stop me from renewing as this is my go to card for everything. Everyone needs to stop whining about the hundred dollar increase, go find me a better card.

I use it to book trips to Philippines for 48000 point. Cant beat that! I will continue to make sure I get enough value each year.

These perks are not of any use. Chase has to watch out, cause they are going to be losing alot of customers just cause of the $100 dollar hike. It was as it is a very expensive card compared to their competitors and now its not worth it at all.
