What exactly does trip insurance cover. If planned trip is cancelled are hotel rooms covered that are prepaid on plat card . How about airfare. There is no precise information available through citi bank

In reply to Vishal. You do not need to use the card to pay for the airfare in order to receive the checked bag perk. The benefit is linked to your AA account, so as long as your AA number is attached to your reservation you'll get the free checked bag on AA flights.

In reply to larry. Larry, the free checked bag benefit applies to any American Airlines flight regardless of what card you pay with as long as your AAdvantage number is linked to the reservation.

Does one have to use this credit card to purchase the American Airlines airfare to receive the free checked bag? Or would the card be linked to the account, but some other card can be used for this purpose? Please help. Thanks.

Is the free bag benefit only on paid airfare? I’m assuming it wouldn’t work with award tickets with the taxes and fees paid with the card.

so use this card and get 10% miles back on award flights or use prestige card and get 6+ hour flight delay protection. What do u think is better on international flights with connections?
