I have a capital one venture card that is due to get its first annual fee in just over a month. I did not want to have to pay the fee to save my points. Luckily I had an old travel expense that I could redeem all my points toward for a statement credit. Just one thing. when I was on the site today I looked at gift cards. It looks like all the ones I considered have a payout rate of 0.80 per 100 points, not 1.00 per 100 points as the article states.
